True craftsmanship has become a thing of the past. The days of horse-drawn logging, hand-hewed beams and even handmade nails are mostly extinct. Fortunately, the legacy of those skilled workers still lives on in many old barns around the country. With nothing more than hammers, saws and measuring tapes made from leather, they constructed grids of perfectly spaced barn trusses and rafters. Our barn is over 100 years old and still stands the test of time.
Grew up on a farm, married 28 years and live in town, but I couldn’t buy a home in town til I had a ‘country’ view out my back door. (for the homesickness of course ) And I got my way 🙂 Look forward to seeing more of your blog.

You can take the boy from the farm, but not the farm from the boy. Glad you found your country view!

Beautiful! We have an old barn like this, and I almost posted a photo of it to my blog for this challenge.

It’s messy and stinky and a little treacherous, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I understand. My daughter deals with the reality of animals and loves them and fights for them in her own way. She is a high schooler, and I know this is a passion for her. I will be showing your blog to her. Thanks.
