Every year, around the middle of December, in a snow covered field along a quiet country road, a little Christmas tree decorated with a tin foil star and a lone red ornament appears. At sunset, a solar battery powers a single strand of white Christmas lights that shine brightly in the darkness of the surrounding woods. Nobody seems to know the mysterious tree owner and most people around here like it that way. This simple act of holiday spirit spreads Christmas joy and magic to all who pass by the little tree.

Love the little tree. It reminds me of a cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas, where a family always put a tiny tree like that with battery lights on a grave each year. As you drove by, that little tree shined bright in memory of someone loved and lost. 🙂
